Heights, IL August 26, 2004-- Antenex has released a new family of multi-band
Survivor antennas. The antenna is designed for installations ranging
from heavy equipment to police pursuit vehicles but is esthetically
pleasing enough to be used on a luxury automobile. The antenna employs
a pre-amplified GPS patch for timing and location along with an external
antenna available in several choices of land based and Orbcomm based
frequencies and gain configurations. The external antenna utilizes a
black chrome plated antenna element with a black chrome plated stainless
steel shock spring. Both 14 foot long transmission lines pass through
a 5/8" diameter mounting stud and are terminated with an SMB plug
for GPS and a type N male connector. Inside, a pre-amplified, 28db,
right hand circularly polarized active patch is used. The GPS patch
antenna pre-amplifier requires a bias voltage of +3.3 to +5V DC which
is sampled from the antenna port of the GPS receiver device. The new
models feature a lower profile, weatherproof molded housing that resist
impact, and absorbs vibration. It also features a soft mounting pad
to protect the vehicle finish. For more information, contact sales@antenex.com or call 1-800-323-3757.
