Phantom® Antennas

Antenex Antennas - Only Now the Story Can be Told
Antenex, Inc. reports their antennas are being used in support of Operation Enduring Freedom by the US Army Space Program. The patented Antenex Phantom technology survived in these extremely harsh environmental conditions for over a year in hundreds of installations on Army helicopters, including the Apache, as well as various armored vehicles.
Phantom technology is available in many standard Antenex products for mobile police data terminals, fixed station meter reading, NASCAR racing and general mobile radio applications. This same Phantom technology was chosen by the United States Army Space Program Office for use with its Grenadier BRAT tracking system which was fielded in October 2001. Antenex Phantoms accompanied the first Special Operations Forces acting in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The antenna was chosen because it combines whipless low profile with field diversity and gain. Low profile permits rugged mechanical formats and the field diversity counteracts signal reflection and multi-path radiation in difficult RF environments. Phantom field diversity is a definite plus for helicopter operations given the continual changes in antenna orientation.
Antenex and its OEM Team developed this custom Phantom antenna solution for the US Army Space Program in conjunction with several major defense contractors specifically for use in the Grenadier BRAT system. This beyond line of sight reporting and tracking system employs the most advanced wireless encryption, GPS, and spread spectrum technologies. It gives field commanders the ability to track and communicate with friendly forces deep on the battlefield with minimum possibility of interception or detection.
Antenex, Inc. works with customers in a wide range of industries to provide antenna solutions. Its OEM Team draws on in-house capabilities in RF design, CNC machining, injection molding, and PC board design to rapidly develop antenna prototypes. Antenex’ rapid prototype response permits its customers to meet challenging RF project objectives within specification and on time.

Antenex
Yagi line for 2002
09/02

Antenex® announces a new line of full featured internally matched Yagis
Antenex® announces a new line of full featured
internally matched Yagis. The new design features an end-of-boom
N connector feed with an internal transmission line feeding
the driven element. Internal matching achieves broad bandwidth
and is highly weather resistant. There is no gamma match to
ice up, corrode or detune.
The
gold fully welded Antenex® Yagi antennas feature
360-degree welds around each element and are fully gold anodized
for corrosion resistance. Our engineering staff has also optimized
the product family for forward gain by computer analysis and
then field-tested each for conformance.
Dont
forget, each Yagi is hand tuned on a network analyzer for best
power match and lowest VSWR. This is your assurance of the best
possible performance every time. Each Yagi also ships complete
with a high quality cast aluminum mounting kit that includes
stainless steel hardware and allows vertical or horizontal orientation
during install. Antenex® also offers precision
cable assemblies to complete the job.
Whether
your installation calls for the super high durability of a fully
welded Yagi or the lower cost, yet very high durability of a
silver series Yagi, Antenex® is the correct choice
for your demanding application.

The MABVT8 Thick Mount
08/02

Antenex® introduces a new thick mount
Antenex®
has a new thick mount for Panel Trucks, Ambulances, Busses and
other challenging thick walled installations. The MABVT8 will
mount in material with thicknesses ranging from .032" to
.500" and works in 3/4" or 3/8" mounting configurations.
Featuring
a Stainless Steel Piercing 10 point collar nut, all brass construction
utilizing a brass alloy with a Rockwell® 78 hardness,
and milled flats on the retainer ring for more positive mounting,
the mount is extremely durable and reliable. Silver Soldered
Joints, a crimped and soldered ground lug, and Low Loss Delrin®
coaxial insulator components make this a very reliable mount.
All Antenex®
mounts are 100% continuity and resistance tested. Each mount
is constructed with the standard Antenex® small
high performance center contact.
The Antenex®
MABVT8 thick mount will work with any frequency up to 1000 MHz
and comes standard with 17 feet of Antenex® coax
cable. Custom configurations are also available.

Antenex® combined Phantom design with a GPS antenna
05/02

Antenex®
announces the combination of its unique patented Phantom
design with a GPS antenna. This dual band antenna features the
patented Phantom design in a 900MHz frequency featuring low
visibility, wide bandwidth and a low angle radiation pattern
that is superior to traditional gain antennas in most applications.
The GPS
that is mounted inside the ABS molded housing with the Phantom
antenna features an active 27dB LNA. The housing comes with
the industry standard MNO mount and attaches with the supplied
locking washer and bolts.
The revolutionary
patented whipless low profile design of the Phantom antenna
means they do not look like antennas, attract less attention,
help prevent vandalism, and have lower wind resistance.
The Phantom
antennas unique design means that the antenna is simultaneously
sensitive to both the electric and magnetic fields of the signal
-- like having two antennas. This makes the antenna resistant
to the picket-fence fading and multipath nulls that are found
in urban operation and undulating mobile environments. The VHF
Phantom picks up voice and data communications near buildings
where a whip antenna will not.
